The 1st School on Nanoparticles for BioApplications is designed for senior undergraduate, graduate students and post-docs who are willing to learn more about this fascinating world, covering topics such as synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials, biofunctionalisation, biomedical applications and much more.
Lectures, seminars and discussions will be led by NanoBioAp Research Cluster of Excellence senior members and international visiting professors. The objective is to learn, discuss hot research topics, and network while enjoying a wonderful natural environment. It will be a memorable experience at the start of your research career.

Location
Llanes is a a beautiful coastal village that belongs to the Principality of Asturias, located in the north of Spain.
You can reach Llanes by bus, departuring from the two main cities close, Gijón and Santander to where you can arrive by train or plane, landing at Aeropuerto de Asturias and Aeropuerto Seve-Ballesteros, respectively.

The registration fee is 200€ for students, PhD and post-docs.
A certain amount of grants for students belonging to the NanoBioAp Network or who are attending to the International Conference on Fine Particle Magnetism (ICFPM 2019, from 27th to 31st May, Gijón) will be given. If this is the case, the fee will be reduced to 75€.

The fee covers also the accommodation in a double-shared room at Hotel Finca La Mansión (arrival 23rd, preferred in the morning, departure 25th before 3.00 PM).
Breakfast (24th – 25th), lunches (23rd – 24th) and coffee breaks are also included. Dinners shall be covered by attendees.

Program
Lectures will be of about 1 hour (special ones could last longer), divided in 40 minutes of lecture plus 20 minutes of discussion and/or teamwork. Check the lessons and the lecturers in the School Program tab.
Students are invited to shortly present the motivation of their scientific activity in a dedicated session of 1 minute pitch. Feedback and ways of improvement on it will be given within the course.
