University of Oviedo (UniOvi)

The node of the University of Oviedo is one of the most multidisciplinary as it gathers together physicists, chemists, chemical engineers and biologists and molecular biologists.

The synthesis, characterisation and application of materials in the nanoscale is the central line of investigation for all the members in this node, joined together in the NANOBIOMEM Group. The possible application of these nanomaterials, especially as biosensors for different biomarkers for illness as PSA for prostatic cancer or Troponin I for myocardial infarction were the beginnings. After that, other applications as the formulation of microemulsions, liposomes and nanovesicles for the encapsulation of drugs and the possible antimicrobial effects of metal nanoparticles are also now being studied. All of these always without losing the interest on the understanding of the fundamental aspects of the nanomaterials themselves.

As a multidisciplinary network,we complement each other.

  • Signal Amplification Systems by Organic/Inorganic Nanoparticles
